My career started in ‘78 when earned my journeyman mechanic designation, yet found I had more passion toward construction and became a superintendent in 1993
I hold CPR and 10-Hour OSHA certifications
I’ve visited more than 30 states for a multitude of different project types, and I even built Joe’s Coffee World in NYC’s World Trade Center 1
When I’m not on the road for work, I visit Lake Michigan as often as I can. I love to camp, fish, and ride quads with my grandkids
Spending time outdoors brings Ole Jake a smile. A favorite camping memory is when I convinced my kids there was gold hidden in the rocks in Scottsdale, AZ and they spent the entire day smashing them with hammers. We never found any treasure, but won’t forget the fun we had on that trip!
I bow hunt, watch stock car and drag races, and hit the links, but I can relax indoors at the bowling alley, too
In my young and wild days, I was a hot rodder. I drove fast cars and even built monster trucks. I had to give that up when I had 4 kids, but can’t wait to show my grandchildren how cool their grandpa was!
